Packing for Asheville, NC

We are so thrilled to be heading off to Asheville later this week for a long weekend getaway!

Back in February of last year, Rich and I spent a weekend there for Valentine’s Day (as an engaged couple!) and then Rich celebrated his bachelor party there back in October with the guys.

The weather should be sunny, but cool, so I’ll be dressing in casual and comfy layers. I’m taking a few favorites from my little springtime fashion roundup!

The fun, printed Aspire Ankle Pants are certainly coming along, as they are my new go-to pant for spring. Lightweight and quick-drying… what’s not to love? I’m bringing a breathable Sugar Wash Tank and a couple of scarves for layering, too.

This time around, we’ve got quite a list planned:

1. Visiting Biltmore Estate for the Dressing Downton exhibit
2. Drinking at more than half a dozen local breweries (duh)
3. Seeing A Streetcar Named Desire at Asheville Community Theatre
4. Eating a romantic Spanish dinner at Cúrate
5. Checking out some antiques shops
6. Lunching at Tupelo Honey Cafe
7. Indulging in tasty treats from Vortex Doughnuts

In other news, congratulations to Kylee — you’ve won the Blue Apron giveaway! Email me at, so that I have your email address to submit for the free trial. Oh, and get ready for some tasty dinners!

  1. I’m so excited!! You’ll be getting an email in a moment 🙂 Enjoy your trip as well – those sound like great places. Have you tried the Tupelo Honey in Raleigh yet? I keep forgetting we have one now since it’s such an Asheville place in my mind.

I still haven’t been to Tupelo in Raleigh OR Asheville! I made a lunch reservation for the South Asheville location this weekend on the same day that we are doing Biltmore, since it’s very closeby — so I can’t wait!

So excited for you to try Blue Apron, happy cooking!

  2. Have a load of fun there – Asheville is always a great place to be!
As for great places, you and Rich must come to Budapest, the most wonderful city. We have had a most amazing day with our Brit friends, the Hattats, who live here – they were the best hosts and we even went to an art/photography opening this evening which you would have loved. The turnout was fabulous at least 200 – Hungarians and other Europeans – more later on the blog, when/if I have time!!

Travel the world – there’s nothing better!
    Love from us both oxoxoxo

Sounds like a wonderful day with friends! Looking forward to following your updates — will be of course sharing a wrap-up of Asheville when we return as well! Xx Lots of love!

  3. Sounds like you guys had a great time!! Love going to Asheville and hitting the antique shops. I also love eating at Moe’s Original BBQ and Green Sage, simple but delicious. Looking forward to seeing you sometime soon! xo
