Blue Apron Giveaway! – (Winner Announced)

Helloooooooo Monday!

Let’s have some fun with a little giveaway.

Yep, a freebie!

Besides, I owe it to you since I missed Friday Feast last week.

Richard and I received a free 1-week trial to Blue Apron from a friend, and we loved it so much that we’ve stuck with it for three weeks now! Time to spread that good karma around, folks.

Yes, I realize that this adds to the seemingly never-ending list of subscriptions that I’ve tried. Blue Apron is crazy awesome, though. Trust me on this.

When you set up your account details, you enter any dietary preferences (fish, meat, shellfish, vegetarian, etc) and are then sent 3 meals each week (for a total of six meals if you opt for the 2-person plan like we did). If you are going to be out of town, or if the upcoming menu simply doesn’t appeal to you, skip that week! You only pay for the weeks that you are opted-in. Be sure to opt-out of any future week’s delivery at least 7 days prior to your delivery by 12pm.

The ingredients are delivered in a special, entirely recyclable, refrigerated package — right to your doorstep!

By the way, these meals are HUGE. Sometimes we have leftovers for lunch the next day, which is quite a treat! It’s been an amazing way to get Rich and I in the kitchen, cooking together. Plus, it takes the guesswork out of meal-planning on busy weeks.

So, want to try Blue Apron for 1 week on us?

To enter, answer the following question in the comments section of this post:

What is your favorite healthy snack?

Winner will be announced at 12pm EST on Monday, April 27th!

  1. Pita and hummus is always a classic go to for me, but when all of the strawberry farms near us are in season I snack on fresh berries non-stop!

Aww, Patrick and I used to go pick strawberries when we were little! I’ll have to make Richard take me this summer — a delicious and nostalgic treat! And Richard and I are also big hummus and pita eaters.

  2. I’ve been loving homemade guacamole and pita chips or carrots! Blueberries are another favorite!

OH GOOD LORD guacamole is my jam. Seriously. Summertime hits and I’m trying to whip that stuff up on a weekly basis, if possible. Yum!

  3. Looks amazingly tasty – I checked the website and loved what I saw. Are these pics actually your dishes made up in your kitchen dear?
Healthy snack – is there such a thing? Only in America do people snack! In France especially you will rarely see anyone snacking between meals, and growing up in England we were never allowed to eat between meals!
Currently, I enjoy a small bowl of lemon Noosa yogurt topped with a few blueberries or raspberries – or a piece of really good dark chocolate!

    See you tomorrow.

Yep, they are my photos that I snap hurriedly before devouring dinner before it gets cold! Haha, Richard told me the same thing about snacking in England when I read your comment to him. Mmm… lemon yogurt with blueberries sounds perfect for springtime. And dark chocolate gets me every time. Xx

  4. I snack all day! Current faves are carrots, pretzels and hummus; or those squeezy applesauce packs. I know they’re meant for kids, but the good ones are just pureed fruit and veggies – no sweetener, no preservatives, nothing! And they don’t bruise in my purse like fresh fruit 🙂

  5. My latest favorite healthy snack is apple slices dipped in almond butter!

  6. These meals look absolutely scrumptious! I would definitely love trying all of these. My favorite healthy snack is bananas and granola. Whenever I need energy I just eat a banana since they’re energizing and they have so many health benefits. Plus they’re sweet and delicious as well as granola. I’ve been eating healthier the past 3 years and it really makes a difference in my mood, appearance, and daily performance. People make it seem as though eating healthy means lacking in taste in flavor, but companies like Blue Apron prove you can eat right and not lack in the flavor department.

It’s true — healthy eating doesn’t HAVE to be boring or lacking in flavor! And yes, my mood always improves when I eat well and drink plenty of water. Blue Apron is so neat because I’m cooking with ingredients I’ve never even HEARD of!

Great photos Cassie! I especially like the Broccoli and Fregola Sarda Salad! The egg looks perfect, just like a magazine photo. : )

I would have to say my favorite snack is sliced avocado with heirloom tomatoes, and salt and pepper, which I can’t wait to have this summer! A piece of toast with peanut butter and honey on it is a snack I enjoy year round. Yum.

  8. I like almonds and fruit.
